The two-color Ryobi 522/522H combine the benefits of high-speed operation, superb printing quality, and reliability.
Building on the outstanding features of the 522/522H, the new Ryobi 522X and 522HX have been upgraded based on feedback from the field and offer you significant cost performance advantages.
These new models feature the satellite V-shaped 5-cylinder system that delivers precise two-color printing as well as high-speed operation at 13,000 sheets per hour for enhanced productivity. Adding to the renowned performance of their highly rated predecessors, the 522X and 522HX include a plate register remote control and a rotary type stream feeder as standard equipment. Combined with a variety of mechanisms that facilitate quick paper size changes, these new models offer the advanced capabilities needed to tackle the increasingly diverse, short-run color printing market. In the dampening sections, the 522X is equipped with a Molleton dampening system and the 522HX features the "Ryobi-matic" Continuous Dampening System to meet customer needs. Also included with the 522HX as a standard feature is the Ryobi AAC (Aqua Automatic Control System) to reduce the work load involved in adjusting the dampening volume during printing.
The Ryobi 522X/522HX can handle multi-color printing jobs with ease thanks to newly added and upgraded features. With such efficiency, these presses truly take the lead in ushering in a new era in multi-color printing.
Satellite V-Shapes 5-Cylinder Systems Delivers
Stable Multi-Color Printing Accuracy
The Ryobi 522X/522HX use the satellite V-shaped 5-cylinder system, consisting of
two sets of blanket and plate cylinders plus a double-diameter impression
cylinder. Two-color print jobs without gripper change guarantee high printing
quality.
Reliable Registration
An integrated front lay with four front lays positioned on a single shaft
provides stable, reliable registration. The pull-side lay uses a
roller-to-roller type system that ensures stable lateral registration, and a
reliable cam-closed-type sheet grip and a simple underswing movement maintain
stable registration accuracy even during high-speed printing.
Superior Inking Mechanism
Each ink unit is designed around Ryobi's superior ink roller configuration which
includes four different diameter form rollers. To ensure the highest print
quality, Ryobi thoroughly researched ink coverage ratios, transfer stability and
kneading capability, so that even heavy solid printing can be done smoothly.
Precision Cast Components and a Heavy-Duty
Frame
A one-piece cast-iron frame provides strong, rugged support for each printing
unit, reliably absorbing shocks and vibration and maintaining high accuracy even
during long-run printing at high speeds. A bearer contact type cylinder system
used on the plate and blanket cylinders maintains constant plate pressure with
each rotation of the cylinder, delivering sharp halftone dots and crisp solids.
Cylinder Bearing Mechanism
A cylinder bearing mechanism based on ultra-precision bearings maintains high
accuracy during long-term operation.
Shortened Registration Adjustment Time
A highly responsive plate register remote control provides the ability to
quickly manage high-precision image position adjustments. This system allows the
operator to make micro vertical and lateral image position adjustments on each
unit while checking the printed sheets at the delivery side when the machine is
idling. Adjustments can be made in increments of 0.0l mm (0.0004") within a
range of ±l mm vertically and ±2 mm laterally.
Flexible Paper Size Changes
The Ryobi 522X/522HX can handle paper sizes ranging from 100 x 150 mm (3.9 x
5.9") postcards up to a maximum of 520 x 375 mm (20.47 x 14.76").
Resetting brush wheels and runner wheels for different paper stock sizes is
quick and easy thanks to an integrated feeder board roller movement system and a
paper size change button.
Convenient Production Button
One push of the production button from the delivery side starts the press
operation, from activating pumps, paper feeding, and starting printing to the
gradual acceleration to the desired press speed.
Additional Attractive Features
The OK Monitor informs the operator of the status of safety devices and press
operations at a glance. A rotary type stream feeder ensures stable, smooth paper
feed for paper ranging from 0.04 mm (0.001 6") onion skin to 0.4 mm
(0.016") [0.5 mm (0.020")] card stock. Also with a newly developed
sheet separator system, delicate sheet separation adjustments can be performed
easily.
Note: 0.5 mm (0.02") stock can be printed when feeding
sheets perpendicular to the fiber direction. An automatic centralized
oiling system supplies lubricant to all major bearings, gears, and drive
components at the start of operation and at regular intervals. This feature
reduces operator's maintenance work and maintains high printing accuracy over a
longer period of time.
Independent NP Impression Cylinder
Ryobi¹s remarkable NP unit features an independent NP impression cylinder which
is completely separated from the offset printing section. This system does not
affect the offset printing quality, and allows the combining of finishing
operations including numbering, vertical and cross perforating, and imprinting.
Swing-Away Design
A swing-away design has been adopted for the NP unit. When only offset printing
is required without any finishing operations, the NP unit can be swung away from
the parent press in just a few minutes.
8 inking rollers (including 2 form rollers) assure high-quality numbering and imprinting. The repeat numbering function allows the operator to set any number of sheets, up to 9, to be identically numbered before the next consecutive number is printed. Slitting (option) and creasing (option) are possible in the same way as vertical perforation. A complete center slitting function is also available. For pre-registration of numbering boxes, perforators and nylon plate, built-in positioning scales and register film are standard. An economy type NP unit with fewer features, the NPE52, is also available.
